Hunting (Mist, Moon)

Moon crouched against a rock as she saw a mouse. She crept closer...A hawk went down and grabbed the mouse, and Moon jumped on its back and killed it.

"Oooo, nice kill, Moon!" Mist mewed, padding out from behind another rock.

"Thanks." Moon said. "It's great that we get two good pieces of caught-prey in one strike, isn't it?"

"It's very nice." Mist agreed. "You think there's any more prey about?" She asked, sniffing the air.

"Maybe." Moon said. "We probably have to go somewhere else though, unless a mouse decides to come out."

"True..." Mist mewed, trailing off. "How about we try over there? I think I can smell something." She meowed, pointing with her tail behind a tall line of rocks.

Moon nodded and followed Mist.

As they reach the line of tall rocks, Mist silently leaped up and over them and onto the other side. There, she quickly took refuge behind a wide rock. Checking to make sure Moon was with her, she peaked out from behind the rock and scented the air. Another mouse! Yes! She waited patiently untill an eagle came into view. She waited for it to swipe the bird and....now! She pounced from her hiding place and landed on the bird, killing it quickly with a bite to the neck.

"Good catch." Moon said softly, so as to not startle any prey that might be nearby.

"Can you scent anything aro-" She coughed. "Sorry....I think I have a feather stuck in my throat." She coughed again, and sure enough a feather came out. "Wow...that's akward." She mumbled.

"Don't worry about it." Moon said. She sniffed the air. "I think there's something a little ways away..."

"That's good. I don't think we should get too much more, though. If we did, I don't think we'd be able to bring it all back to the cave!" Mist joked, but kept her voice low.

Moon sniffed the air and found a mouse. She pressed herself against a rock and waited until a hawk was coming. And...now! Moon pounced on the hawk as it grabbed the mouse and killed it. She dropped it and shook her head and spit out a feather.

"I think we should be getting this caught-prey back to the cave now, we've got quite a lot." Mist meowed delightfully, going over to the eagle and mouse, picking them up. "Wets go gwab the west." She mumbled around the prey.

Moon picked tried to pick up the rest and get it pack to the caught-prey pile.

As they walked the path behind the waterfall, a feather started to tickle her throat. Just as Moon and her got into the cave, she couldn't take it anymore and droped her prey there. "Well, at least I didn't drop it in the waterfall." Mist joked, picking up her prey again and bringing it the rest of the way to the caught-prey pile.

"True." Moon laughed. She put her caught-prey in the pile. "You want to eat with me today?"

"Sure!" Mist meowed happily. Hmm....What looks best today? She pulled out one of the hawks from their hunting trip and padded a few tail-lengths away. She waited for Moon as she settled herself into a lying position.

Moon padded over and lay by Mist. She prodded it to Mist for the first bite.

Mist plucked some feathers from the hawk first, setting them off to the side for bedding. "Mmm!" She meowed, taking the first bite, "Still warm!" She pushed the hawk over to Moon.

Moon pulled out a few feathers and took a bite. "Wow, it is! And it's really good." She pushed the hawk back to Mist and spit out another feather.

Mist took another bite. "Caught-prey is so much better when it's fresh, huh?" She asked, pushing the hawk back to her.

Moon took a bite. "Yeah!" She pushed it to Mist.

Before taking her next bite, Mist asked, "So, how're the to-be's coming along?" She took another juicy bite and passed it back to Moon.

"Good, good." Moon replied, taking a bite and passing it to Mist.
